Depending on the retail tariff you are on, the amount you pay for using electricity may differ depending on what time of day you use electricity. For instance, if you are on a Time of Use tariff you will be charged more for consuming energy during peak times and less during shoulder and less again during off-peak periods. However, on a Transitional Time of Use tariff, whilst your bill may display your usage during peak and off-peak times, the rates charged for each period do not change based on the time you use electricity.
